Deluxe Turkish Toasted Sandwich
Steak & Onion - Serves 4

450g packet TURKISH BREAD
2 Tbsp olive oil
4 pieces eye fillet or scotch steak
4 Tbsp whole-grain mustard
1-2 tomatoes, thickly sliced
2 onions, sliced into rings
2 cups cos lettuce or salad greens

Place onion rings into a very hot grill or fry pan, with a drizzle of olive oil and cook until golden and crispy (onions take a little longer to cook than steak). Brush steaks with olive oil and cook to your liking. Cut the Turkish Bread loaf in half lengthways, then into four portions. Spread the bottom half of the bread with mustard, top with steak, grilled onions and tomatoes.
For each sandwich, brush or spray with a little olive oil and heat in a toast & grill machine for a few minutes until bread is golden.
Serve with cos lettuce and tomato relish.


Deluxe Turkish Toasted Sandwich
Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato - Serves 4

450g packet TURKISH BREAD
1 Tbsp olive oil
8 rashers honey cured middle bacon
4 Tbsp whole-grain mustard
4 Tbsp hummus or mayonnaise (optional)
1-2 tomatoes, thickly sliced
8 slices aged Cheddar cheese
2 handfuls baby spinach leaves or salad greens


Cut the TURKISH BREAD loaf in half lengthways, then into four portions.
Grill bacon on a hot grill or fry pan until crispy. Drain on paper towels. Slice tomatoes thickly, and slice cheese.
Spread the bottom half of the bread with mustard or hummus, then top with bacon, tomato, cheddar and a handful of baby spinach leaves. For each sandwich, brush or spray with a little olive oil and heat in a toast & grill machine until golden and the cheese is melted.
Serve with your favourite tea or coffee.


TURKISH BREAD Croutons
450g packet TURKISH BREAD
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp butter

Cut the TURKISH BREAD loaf into 2cm cubes. Spray with olive oil and fry in butter over moderate heat until croutons are crispy and golden.
Sprinkle over your favourite soups, salads or delicious served as a topping for baked casseroles. Store in an airtight container and keep on hand in the pantry to serve as an accompaniment with any meal.


Toasted Turkish Panini
Ham, Cheese & Mayonnaise - Serves 2

320g packet TURKISH PIDE
4 pieces sliced ham
4 slices Elsberg or Gouda cheese
2 Tbsp honey mustard mayonnaise
cracked black pepper and sea salt

For each Turkish Panini, cut the Pide bread in half lengthways and generously spread some honey mustard mayonnaise over the base of the bread. Top with the sliced ham, cheese slices and season with pepper and salt.
Place the Panini lid on top of the sandwich fillings and brush or spray lightly with olive oil. Place onto a pre-heated toast & grill machine and cook until golden and the cheese is melted. Slice in half and serve.


Toasted Turkish Panini
Chicken, Brie & Cranberry - Serves 4

450g packet TURKISH PANINI (4-pack)
2 chicken breast, skin on if cooking on grill pan
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp cranberry sauce
8 slices Brie or Camembert cheese

Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and season with salt and cracked pepper. Cook on grill pan or fry pan for 10 minutes or until cooked. Rest. Cut into slices. For each Turkish Panini, cut the Pide bread in half lengthways and spread base with the cranberry sauce, sliced chicken and sliced Brie or Camembert. Place the Panini lid on top of the sandwich fillings and brush or spray lightly with olive oil. Place onto a pre-heated toast & grill machine and cook until golden and the cheese is melted.
Slice in half and serve.
Other filling ideas: Tomato, Basil & Mozzarella, Honey Glazed Ham and Rocket . Yum!


Gourmet Turkish Pizza
Chicken, Mango & Coriander - Serves 2

320g packet TURKISH PIDE (plain or garlic)
1 chicken breast, grilled
1 red onion, sliced
3 Tbsp grated cheese
2 Tbsp mango chutney
3 Tbsp cashew nuts
2 Tbsp coriander
2 Tbsp Greek yoghurt

Pre-heat oven to 220°C. Place Pide bread onto non-stick baking paper and brush well with oil. Rub chicken breast with olive oil and season with salt and cracked pepper. Cook on grill pan or fry pan for 10 minutes or until cooked. Rest. Cut into slices.
Top pizza bread with chicken, red onion, cashew nuts and sprinkle over grated cheese. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and cheese is melted. Scatter with chopped coriander and spoon over mango chutney and yoghurt.
Cut into wedges and serve.

Turkish Yufka Wrap - The most ancient of breads
Spiced Lamb with Rocket - Serves 4

450g packet TURKISH YUFKA WRAPS - plain or wheatmeal (4-pack)
2 lamb fillet & 2 tsp olive oil
2 tsp ground cumin & 2 tsp ground coriander
6 Tbsp chopped mint
6 Tbsp Greek yoghurt
2 Tbsp lemon juice
4 handfuls wild rocket leaves

Roll lamb fillets in olive oil, then rub with ground cumin and coriander, season with pepper and salt. Heat grill pan and cook lamb fillets over medium to high heat for 3 minutes each side, making sure not to over cook (it should be pink in the middle). Rest. Slice on the diagonal into 1cm slices. In a small bowl combine chopped mint, yoghurt and lemon juice. For each wrap, place 1 handful of rocket in centre of wrap and top with half a fillet of sliced lamb, spoon over yoghurt and fold in the base and then the sides to secure the ingredients and wrap up. Brush or spray lightly with olive oil and place onto a pre-heated toast & grill machine and cook until golden. Serve with a small salad.

Turkish Pizza Bread
Spinach, Feta & Olive - Serves 4

450g packet TURKISH YUFKA - plain or wheatmeal (4-pack)
8 Tbsp tomato pesto
2 Tbsp olive oil
8 cubes feta cheese, crumbled
2 handfuls baby spinach leaves
1 handful pitted black olives, sliced
cracked black pepper and sea salt

Preheat oven to 200°C. For each pizza, place a Turkish Yufka onto a large baking tray. Spray lightly with olive oil and generously spread some tomato pesto over the base of the pizza bread. Top with the feta cheese, spinach leaves and olives. Season and bake for approximately 7-10 minutes or until the edges are golden and crispy. Slice into portions, serve and enjoy! Versatile & great tasting, use Turkish Yufka when making your next pizza or pizza bread. Spread a tomato base over the bread and sprinkle with a selection of your favourite pizza toppings. These crispy, colourful pizzas make the perfect lunch, light dinner or pre-dinner party snack.
